Best Blepharoplasty Surgery In Ghatkopar, Mumbai
They say eyes are windows to the soul, as they are the most expressive part of the face. Drooping eyelids give a tired look to the face. As you age, your eyelids stretch, and the muscles supporting them weaken. As a result, excess fat may gather above and below your eyelids, causing sagging eyebrows, droopy upper lids, and bags under the eyes.
Many people develop fine wrinkles in their late 20s, then puffy bags and dark circles under their eyes in their 30s. Lack of sleep as a result of work or family stress can make this worse. With time, further elasticity loss is noticed, which causes the hooding of the upper eyelids. In the 40s and beyond, extra skin folds accumulate on your eyelids and underneath your eyes, making you appear more tired. The situation worsens when a heavy groove begins forming between the undereye and the cheek, more commonly known as a “tear trough.”. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery can remove excess skin and fat, thus making them look more youthful. Contact the best plastic surgeon in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, India, and embark on a journey to rediscover the windows to your soul.
Besides making you look older, severely sagging skin around your eyes can reduce your side vision (peripheral vision), especially the upper and outer parts of your field of vision. Blepharoplasty can reduce or eliminate these vision problems and make your eyes appear younger and more alert. Book your consultation today and take the first step towards a fresh look.
Surgical procedure:
The blepharoplasty surgery is performed under local or general anaesthesia depending upon the complexity. It can be performed on either upper or lower eyelids or both. Excess skin, muscle, fat is excised. If there is drooping of lower eyelid, it may require tightening. The incisions are hidden in the natural skin creases so that they are barely visible. If skin excision is not required, then incisions are taken inside the eyelids over conjunctiva so that no scars are visible
Post-operative care and recovery:
- The eyelids are sutured with very fine sutures, which are removed after the 5th or 6th day.
- The immediate effect of this type of surgery are, bruising on both eyelids and swelling which sometimes closes the eyes and makes it difficult for them to open. As the swelling goes down, eyes can be opened normally. Improvement is achieved by applying cold compresses on both eyelids after surgery and for the first 48 hours. If a certain feeling of soreness appears, the solution is soothing eye drops, which relive the soreness immediately.
- All these feelings of discomfort disappear within a week, approximately. Contact lenses should not be used until after a few days have passed and only with a medical prescription.
- The use of sunglasses is recommended if you go out in the street or in your car, in order to avoid direct sunlight on your eyelids during the first few weeks.
